Sheila Forsner Award Presented to Charlene Wooley
Charlie’s stepson, Aric Wooley, was
killed by a drunk driver on June 16, 2000 in Wood Dale. Representing AAIM, Charlie
has spoken out about the dangers of drinking and driving at high schools, victim
impact panels, press conferences and public forums. Charlie is totally dedicated
to prevention by advocating on behalf of AAIM. She delivers a powerful message
to the community in order to raise awareness of the tragedy that results from
impaired driving. Her commitment and belief that DUI is a serious crime has
driven Charlie to devote her time and energy to this cause.
Charlie
spends countless hours volunteering her time at the AAIM office. She also serves
on the Benefit Committee and the Motorcycle Pledge Run Committee. Her persistence
in soliciting for auction items and ads has helped make our Benefit the great
success that it is.
Charlie lives in Schaumburg with here husband Jerry and part time in Galena
where they are building a log cabin. She has recently joined AAIM as a
Victim Advocate.
Charlie Wooley’s continuous support and life-saving efforts make her a
worthy recipient of this Award. AAIM salutes this wonderful woman.
