The 2016 Annual Benefit

Celebrating 26 years

Providing Financial Assistance to the victims of Drunk Driving Crashes in Illinois

AAIM 2016 Echoes of the Heart

On November 5th, we held our 26th annual benefit and awards program at Medinah Banquets in Addison, IL. Funds raised provide financial assistance directly to needy crash victims suffering financial hardship.

Guest speakers included, former Governor Jim Edgar and Chicago Based Radio Personality, Garry Meier (http://garrymeier.com). Our annual benefit is in honor of the victims of drunk driving crashes. Leeslyee Huerta, crash victim, shared her story of triumph over tragedy after being paralyzed by a drunk driver when she was a junior in high school.

AAIM recognized several Assistant State’s Attorneys and Victim Witnesses from the DuPage, McHenry, Will, Winnebago and Cook County State’s Attorney's offices. Awards were presented to individuals for their dedication to the cause of justice for victims of impaired driving crashes.

AAIM saluted several outstanding officers who made 100 or more DUI arrests last year. Through their life-saving efforts, 2,385 dangerous drivers were removed from Illinois roads in 2015.

AAIM presented the award for the Top Police Department in Illinois, and this year Carol Stream and Rockford tied first with 464 DUI arrests in 2015.

AAIM also recognizes smaller departments who do an outstanding job. This year, the award went to the Carol Stream Police Department for making 7.61 arrests per officer.

On behalf of AAIM’s Board of Directors, staff and AAIM members, thank you, for helping us assist the victims of drunk driving crashes, and we hope you will continue to join us in our efforts to save lives!
