Continuing
To Help Others
Our beloved daughter, Theresa Marie Stanley,
and her boyfriend, David Brown, were killed
on March 3,2001,when their truck was struck
head-on by a drunk driver near Wausau, WI.
Her tragic death has left emptiness in our
hearts that will never be filled. On bad days,
we have difficulty developing the energy or
interest to perform daily tasks. Even on the
best days, we realize there is something missing
in our lives that used to be there and will
never be there again.
Theresa
was 1992 graduate of St. Emily 's School
in Mt. Prospect and a 1996 graduate of Wauconda
High School. Her high school years were a
time of great personal development for Theresa.
She had many artistic talents and was active
in many school organizations and teams. Her
friends caller her "Peanut " because
she was short. But her big heart and concern
for others more than made up for what she
lacked in physical stature. Theresa was always
seeing the bright side of things and was the
kind of person that could bring a smile to
your face on even your worst days. She was
a good and loyal friend and she loved her
family and friends with all of her heart.
At
22 years old, Theresa was just beginning her
life. She had so much ahead of her - so
much laughter, so much happiness and so much
hope for things to come. All of this potential
was
destroyed in an instant by a drunk driver.
Those of us, who had the privilege to know
her, whether it was for a few hours or a lifetime,
were truly blessed to have her in our lives.
We
miss her terribly, but we are grateful for
the many friends who have offered their support
and prayers during these past difficult months.
Theresa
signed her organ donor card shortly before
her death. Although most of her organs were
too severely injured to use, the organ bank
was able to use her eyes, veins, ligaments
and
bones to help other people. Knowing that Theresa
is continuing to help others enjoy a better
quality of life has been an enormous consolation
to us. We urge everyone to sign their donor
card for their family's sake.
